Napoleon was born April 3, 1972, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Bennie Morey and Alice Faye Waldrip. He was known to many of us as Poe. He spent most of his childhood in Rock Island and attended schools in the Rock Island School District.
Napoleon adored his son and two grandsons and loved being in their presence more than anything. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, playing spades, and watching movies. He was a man of very few words, but when intrigued he could hold a lengthy conversation. Napoleon was a production worker. He enjoyed attending church services at Grace City Church. His smile, laugh, and smack talking will truly be missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his stepfather and mother, Amadu & Alice Faye Jalloh of Rock Island; son, Napoleon Waldrip Jr. of Davenport, IA; brothers, Rodney (Deneen) Waldrip of Lawrenceville, GA; Steven Waldrip and Shaquille Jalloh of Rock Island, IL; sister, Isha (Jayovonte) Reading of Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Adrian Mayes and Kobe Waldrip of Davenport, IA; nephews and nieces, Pacito, Malik, Shai, Jay'Nisha, Kea, Jayvionna, and Malayah; special cousins Damion Hall and Dominique Wommack; special friend Tina Harris; and a host of family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie, grandparents, and aunts Gladys Castell and Betty Hall.
