Neal Daniel Robbins, 69, Campbell’s Island, IL passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at his home. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. A graveside service will follow at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family or Campbell’s Island Volunteer Fire Department.
Neal was born on August 26, 1956 to Leonard “Cactus” Robbins and Phyllis (Husted) Robbins in Moline, IL. He grew up in the Quad Cities area, spending most of his childhood in Milan. After graduating from Rock Island High School in 1974, Neal began his career as a CDL driver. He worked for Dimock, Gould & Co. before spending many years with USF Holland, where he remained until his retirement.
Neal was a proud member of the Teamsters and served his community as a volunteer firefighter on Campbell’s Island. An avid sports fan, he faithfully followed the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Indiana Fever. He especially enjoyed watching games with his son. For many years, Neal played men’s slow-pitch softball and loved to attend the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
Neal treasured the time he spent with his family. He was really looking forward to becoming a great-grandpa and had excitedly called everyone to tell them the news when he found out. Fondly remembered as a jokester and a character, he had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease. Known to his grandkids as “Silly Grandpa,” he brought fun, smiles, and laughter wherever he went.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Angie (John) Dellitt and Joshua (Lacey Rudolph) Robbins; grandchildren; Jacob (Sydney), Jaden (Leanne Veary), Javin, Johna, and Jayla Dellitt; siblings, Jill (Dennis) Carlson, Becky Cosentine, Ted (Jodi) Robbins, Craig (Kim Williams) Robbins, and Terry (Rob) Piatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
