Nicholas L. Painter, 50, of Rock Island, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday December 27, 2023 at his home.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00pm, Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Heritage Church, Rock Island, attendees are asked to wear casual attire. The family will greet friends from 10:30am to service time at church. A luncheon will follow the services at church.

Nicholas was born on May 19, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Nicholas Painter Sr. and Vida Cohen.  He married Monica Barks on February 27, 1999 in Rock Island.

Mr. Painter had been employed at Dohrn Transfer Company as a Warehouse Supervisor.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, grilling and hanging out in his bathrobe with his cat Milo.

Survivors include his wife, Monica; children, Autimn Painter (Jacob), Zachary (Shyanne) Painter, Emily (Andrew) Simmons; grandchildren, Sophie, Alaric, Freya, Lyla Ann, Uriah, Natalie, Dawson and Landon; siblings, Tracy Serrano, Allison Randall, Becky Painter, Craig Painter, Nicholas Painter III; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Painter Sr. and Vida Cohen; several aunts and uncles he loved.
