A funeral service will be held in her honor at 10 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Illinois 61264. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation, which will take place from 4 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, also at the funeral home. Following the service, burial will be conducted at Preemption Cemetery in Preemption, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Tubular Sclerosis Complex Alliance, causes that were close to Anna’s heart.

Born in Strawberry, Arkansas, on January 24, 1945, Anna was the beloved daughter of Paul and Lela Johnson Cook. She was united in marriage to Edward Weinert on October 12, 1963, at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island.

Throughout her career, Anna dedicated her talents to Bells Western Stores in Milan before enjoying a fulfilling retirement from Johannes Bus Service. Anna was an active member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and the Milan Improvement Project, and she previously served as a member of the Lioness Club and Milan Lions.

Those left to cherish Anna's memory include her devoted husband, Edward Weinert; her daughter, Christine Weinert; her sister, Phyllis Munoz; and many beloved nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Paul Cook, Letha Elliott, Burley Cook, Charles Cook and Ruben Cook, along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
