Niyonkuru Alone Cornelio, 25, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Niyonkuru was born January 1, 1997, in Burundi, Africa, to Ngabonziza Citegetse Cornelio and Kabahizi Venatsia Gafanogo. He was a member of the Calvary International Revival Church in Rock Island.

Those left to remember Niyonkuru include his parents, siblings, and several extended family members and friends.
