Niyungeko Francois, 43, of Rock Island, died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 2312 18th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, October 23 at the church. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Francois was born on June 10, 1978 in Tanzania, a son of Nyanzira Anton and Ntiruvakure Renata. He was married to Colletta Basogomba. Francois helped as a translator at World Relief in Moline and was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Rock Island.

Survivors include his wife, Colletta; children, Ntiruvakure Dinye, Mishimwe Tresoro, Parfait Niyunjeko, Liliana Niyunjeko, and Magnifique Niyunjeko; father, Nyanzira Anton; mother, Ntiruvakure Renata; brothers, Ndayishimiye Augist and Manilakiza Odas; sister-in-law, Asha Lesiniti; and nephew, Ndayishimiye Faustin.
