Norita J. Smith, 52, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her home. A live-streamed memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island with online access at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the funeral home. Face Masks and social distancing are required. Memorials may be made to the family.

Norita was born on June 16, 1968 in Kewanee, Illinois, a daughter of John C. and Anna Mae (Manns) Smith. Norita worked as a truck driver for North American Midway Entertainment. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, QVC shopping, and purchasing new wigs.

Those left to cherish Norita's memory include her sister, Doris Smith; brother, James "Sonny" Smith; nephews and nieces, Terel Smith, Erica Nichols, Anica Smith, Chadd Dixon, Jamar Dixon, Tara Smith, Alexa Smith, Jamal Smith, Jasmine Smith, Aaron Smith, Chasmine Thorton, and Jennifer Smith; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Norita was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Odean Smith and Michael Smith.
