Norma L. DeMuynck, 96, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at her home.

Her "Pearly Gates Party" will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Norma was born October 26, 1926, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Anita Edith (Biscontine) Nonnenmann. She married A. Richard DeMuynck on April 19, 1947.

Norma was an avid golfer, even achieving a hole in one. She was a member of various women's golf leagues, YWCA swimming, card club, bowling league, and was solid in her Christian faith. Norma really enjoyed reading, coffee with her friends, and spending time with her blessing of a large family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, David (Shirley) DeMuynck, Kevin DeMuynck, Thomas (Emily) DeMuynck, Nancy (Christopher) Young, Kathleen (Scott) Larson, Mark (Deborah) DeMuynck, Rebecca (Nathan) Holt; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Gloria Wood, and Anita Woest.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A. Richard; son, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Yvonne; and siblings, Joseph, Mary, Cecelia, Charles, Marjorie, and Ernest.
