Norma Koopman,of Rock Island, formerly of Milan, passed away April 21, 2014 at her home.Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, where visitation will be one hour prior to services . Inurnment will be at a later date at Moline Memorial Park, Moline, IL.

Norma was born on June 19th, (year omitted as a lady never reveals her age), a daughter of Charles and Gladys Bailey Pellman. She was united in marriage on December 31, 1966 to Roger Koopman in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2013.

Norma graduated from LeRoy Consolidated High School. She attended Black Hawk College.

She was a member of The Bridge Church in Milan, and recently attended Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Norma retired from IBP Security, Joslin, IL in May 1999. Prior to that she worked at J.I. Case in Rock Island. After retirement she worked as a volunteer at RSVP.

She belonged to Milan Eastern Star #326, the Ladies Auxiliary of Kaaba Temple, and the Red Hat Society.

Norma's family meant everything to her, she dearly loved her family especially her granddaughter, Corinne Koopman, and her grandsons, Walt and Ethan.

She enjoyed walking, exercising at Next Level Fitness, reading, going to the casinos, and traveling to Mesquite, NV for many years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Wendy Koopman, Jr., Andalusia; daughter, Kathi, Aledo, IL; grandchildren, Corinne, Walt, and Ethan; brothers (and spouses), Donald (Faye) Pellman, Clarksville, IN, Charles (Paula) Pellman, Orient, IA, David Pellman, Des Moines, IA; sisters, Margaret (Bill) Smith, Lamoni, IA, and Shirley (Dennis) Smith, Waukee, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Deanna Koopman, brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Marty Pellman, and sisters, Debra Enghauses, and Janet Stephens.
