Norma J. Loring, 92, of Milan, passed away Monday February 6, 2017 at her home.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, with visitation one hour prior to services on Friday. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Greater Iowa.

Norma was born August 3, 1924 in Freeport, IL, a daughter of William and Florence Sager Thruman. Norma and  Ralph L. Loring were united in marriage on August 3, 1948 in Freeport. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1966.

Norma  was employed at Eagle Foods Warehouse for over 30 years. She will also be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved caring for her family and time spent together at family gatherings and on vacations.

In earlier years, she was a member and was baptized at Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island.

Surviving are her children (and spouses), Patricia (Dan) Hoffman, Diane McNichols, Jean (Jim) Pepping, and Debra Winter, all of Milan, and Roxanne (John) Kennedy, Rock Island; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Ward) Horner, North Carolina and Ruth (Rich) Martz, Shannon, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
