Octavio Rivera Tavizon, 78, of Rock Island, died Monday, October 18, 2021. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.

Octavio was born December 30, 1942 in Mexico to Encarnison Rivera and Refujo Tavizon. Octavio married Guadalupe Flores in June 1991.

Surviving are his wife; children, Leela, Blanca, and Israel Rivera; step children, Bertha "Mona" Mejia, Beatris Vasquez, Victor Flores, and Benita Flores, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Francisco, Diego, Rodrigo, and Irma Rivera; and several nieces and nephews.
