Odell Hickman, 73, of Rock Island, departed this life on January 27th at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5th at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed online via https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the family or the American Heart Association.

Odell was born August 19, 1948 in Louisville, MS, the son of Louis and Rosie Lee (McDuffy) Hickman.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was passionate about church. He had been a member of People's Baptist Church and Olivet Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He worked at Titan Wheel until his retirement in 2004. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing, grilling and watching his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Odell started working at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in 2020 and was a beloved staff member. He was blessed to receive a heart transplant in 2016 and was grateful for his new lease on life.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Pearlie Hickman; daughters, Crystal, Tiffany and Lakia Hickman; sons, Mario Harris, Calvin and Raymond Henderson; grandchildren whom he raised, Jazmenn, Mariah, Preston, Davon and Tyyannah Orr, Daquan and Daja Hickman and Lyric Schmacht; sisters, Helen Chamberlin, Rosie Jean Earby, Rosetta Hickman, Demetra (Paul) Hornesburger, Joyce Chamberlin and Wanda Faye Bates; brothers, Charles (Paula) Hickman, Johnny (Doris) Hickman and Calvin (Joycelyn) Hickman.  He had a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Odell was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifton, George, Bobby Joe; and a daughter, Charity Smith.
