Ora Mae Lard, 86, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab, Rock Island.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Ora was born on April 22, 1931 in York, Alabama, a daughter of Mos Carter and Martha (Chaney) Bishop.  She married W.T. Lard, he passed away in 1962.  In her early years, Ora worked as a CNA.  She greatly enjoyed singing, attending church and spending time with her family.  Ora was a member the former Derrick's Temple Church in Rock Island.

Ora is survived by her children; Mattie Atwater, Eva (Evell) Hearn, Emma Roberts, Veronica Renee Parson, Dennis James Arrington, Ellis Jerome Lard, John Lard, all of Rock Island; Brownie Lard and Willie T. (Deb) Lard of Davenport; stepson, Bobbie Lee Lake Lard; daughters in law, Debbie Lard, Bernice Lard, Cloretta Hurn and Anna Lee Lake Lard; sisters, Annie Tom Morman and Eleanora Williams of Buffalo, NY; 53 grandchildren; 120 great grandchildren; 33 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Buffalo, NY and Lauderdale, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Charlie Junior Lard and her parents.
