Orrin K. Meyers, 70, of Milan, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island.

No services are planned. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan.

Orrin was born November 1, 1943 in Moline, a son of Leonard and Augusta Kraklow Meyers. He married Joan D. Pauley in 1961 in Coal Valley.

Orrin was a Rock Island County Sheriff's Deputy. He retired from the Sheriff's Department following 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Joan "Jody", of Milan; children (and spouses), Brian (Nancy) Meyers, Milan, Randy Meyers, Coralville, IA, and Julie (Scott) Strader, Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Robert (Amanda) Meyers, Rockford, Ashley (Mike) Krup, Rock Island, Mindy Meyers (Logan McDaniel), Rock Island, and Brandon Meyers, Bettendorf; great-grandchildren, Devin Krup, Kaydon Krup, Dylan McDaniel, and Huxley Meyers (on the way); sister, Denise Etzkorn, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

Orrin was preceded in death by his parents.
