Otis Dean Cozad, 86, of Rock Island, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

Graveside services are 2 pm Thursday at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be presented by Moline American Legion Post 246.  Those attending should meet by 1:30 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island to follow to the cemetery.

Dean was born March 5, 1930 in Centerville, Iowa, a son of Otis and Inez Owens Cozad.  He married Ruth Swango in 1957 in Las Vegas.  She preceded him in death in 1998.

He owned and operated Cozad Auto in Davenport.  He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his son, David (Vicki) Cozad, Davenport; daughter, Brenda Cozad of Connecticut; two grandchildren; and his very special friend, Norma Kruse, Rock Island.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; sisters, Violet Stamos and Nora Bain; and brothers, Berdette and James Cozad.
