On September 9, 2023, Patricia A. Boyd, 82, formerly of Rock Island, passed away in Davenport doing what she was put on this Earth to do…being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Patricia Ann Flores was born on November 16, 1940, to Ralph Flores, Sr., and Leila (Segura) Flores in Rock Island.  Upon graduating from Alleman High School (1959), Patty worked as a secretary at a local electrical company until she met the love of her life, Ron Boyd.  Patty and Ron were wed in marriage on June 10, 1963, at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Rock Island.

Upon becoming a mother, Patty and Ron moved to Burlington, Iowa where they raised their family.  Immersing herself in all things community and family related, Patty joined everything from the local PTA to teaching catechism at St. John's the Baptist Catholic church.  This sense of volunteerism culminated in Patty being named the Woman of the Year by the Burlington Chamber of Commerce.

Life then took her to the greater Orlando, Florida area where she did it again.  From volunteering at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Altamonte Springs, Florida, to being a frequent flyer at Walt Disney World as her greatest accomplishment, a Mother and Grandmother.  Patty loved her family and life.

Left to cherish her memory are Ronna Boyd, Rock Island; Jeff (Ann) Boyd, Rock Island; Grandchildren, Nicholas (Nashville), Conner (Philadelphia), and Chloe (Rock Island); Brother and Sister-in-law, Ralph Flores, Jr. (Jay) and Sue Flores.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Boyd; her parents, Ralph and Leila Flores; and Sister, Sandy (Flores) Morel.  The family would like to thank the loving line staff at Hope Creek Care Center, and the wonderful staff in the ICU at Genesis East Campus.
