Patricia "Patty" A. Carpenter, 90, of Moline, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend graveside services may meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island at 9:30am. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday at the funeral home, a funeral service will follow. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Patricia A. Bleuer was born on November 3, 1924 in Rock Island, a daughter of Harold Bleuer and Jennie Crosby Bleuer. She married Charles E. Carpenter on August 24, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1991. Patty was a member of Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. She enjoyed her visits to the casino, as well as playing cards and bingo. She was an avid Chicago sports fan, mainly supporting the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. Patty loved to send greeting cards to loved ones and all others who may enjoy them.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry (Nancy) Carpenter, Louisburg, N.C., Judie Klavon, Geneseo; grandchildren, Charles Carpenter, Raleigh, N.C., Susanne Carpenter, Raleigh, N.C., Jeffrey (Cheryl) Davis, Palm Springs, CA, Brian (Diana) Davis, Donnellson, Iowa, Diana (Donald) Fisher, Geneseo, IL; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma (Wayne) Hallenbeck, Rohnert Park, CA, Jeanne Bleuer, Ann Arbor, MI; brother, John (Joy) Bleuer, Coyne Center and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, a brother, James Bleuer and son in law, Robert Klavon.
