Patricia A. DeBruyne, 90, of Rock Island, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.  Cremation rites were accorded.  There will be a graveside service at 1 pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville, Illinois.  Memorials may be made in care of Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, or Heartland Hospice.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Patricia was born in Gilchrist, Illinois on July 17, 1930, the daughter of Raymond W. and Margaret G. Adams Cassidy.  She married Charles J. DeBruyne on September 3, 1949 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.  He preceded her in death on October 8, 1987.

Patricia worked for 25 years at the Rock Island High School.  She also bartended at several local establishments over the years including the Milan American Legion Post 569 where she was a member.

Patricia enjoyed camping, fishing, gambling and drinking with friends.  She loved her grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren dearly.  She was proud of the many memories she made with five generations of family.  There was never a dull moment with Patricia around.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Judy Bateman, Rock Island; grandchildren, Benjamin Elder and Amanda Potter, both of Rock Island; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Joseph DeBruyne.
