Obituary

Patricia Ada DeKeyrel (née McGee), age 85, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, in Bettendorf, Iowa at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House. Born on January 18, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Rosemary (Just) McGee and James Milton McGee.

She married Frank DeKeyrel, and together they built a life centered around their family and their farm—a place that brought Patricia immense joy. Her love for the farm was matched only by her deep affection for her family and the many family dogs over the years.

She was a devoted mother to her three girls, Melanie, Heather and Holly. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Bell, and Melanie's husband, Josh; her grandchildren, Elias and Adeline Bell; and her sister, Mary Rose Kerres. Patricia also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her daughters, Heather DeKeyrel and Holly Arbeiter; her brother-in-law, AugE Kerres; and her son-in-law, Ben Arbeiter.

Patricia’s greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with Elias and Adeline, finding happiness in their laughter and accomplishments. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she loved them deeply.

In recent years, Patricia faced Alzheimer’s disease with grace. Though it took much from her in those final years, it could never diminish the love she gave or the legacy she left behind. Now free from its grasp, she is reunited with Frank, Heather, Holly, and all those she held dear.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 302 1st St. West, Milan. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be left in care of the family or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
