Patricia A. Cross, 87, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.
Pat donated her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. Services and private burial will be held at a later date.
Pat was born on June 14, 1938, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Donald and Essie (Veach) Hinds. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1956, and throughout her life, Pat dedicated herself to her family as a loving homemaker. First married to Roger McKee and later to Larry S. Cross, whom she married on April 11, 1975. After Larry's passing in 1997, she continued to embody strength and resilience, ensuring that her loved ones were always surrounded by love.
A faithful member of Broadway Presbyterian Church in Rock Island, Pat served as an Elder and sang in the choir. She was active in her faith community, drawing strength and comfort from her beliefs. Her hobbies of cross-stitching and reading provided her with an outlet for creativity and reflection.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Melissa Williams, Stacy(Jamey) Coakley, and Anthony Cross; grandchildren: Thaddeus Holgate, Cassandra Griffitts, Jacob Williams, Sage Coakley, Jaden Coakley, Malin Coakley, Cameron Cross, and Ryan Cross; great-grandchildren, Raylan Griffitts, James Brigham, and Rex Griffitts; brother, Jim Hinds; daughter-in-law, Carol McKee; nephews, Greg Smith and Dai Hinds; and niece, Ivy Spinks.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Cross; son, Michael McKee; daughter-in-law, Vickie McKee; daughters, Pamela McKee and Sherry Campbell; sister, Donna Smith-Schuldt; and nephew, Todd Smith
