Patricia "Patti" K. Hoogerwerf, 69, of Milan passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 23, 2023 with family by her side.

Per Patti's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left in care of the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

Patti was born on October 21, 1954 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and M. Lucille (Gollaher) Weed. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1972 and later married James Hoogerwerf. Patti worked as a secretary for many years, retiring from Scott County, Iowa.

Patti's hobbies included bowling, boating, water skiing, riding motorcycles, planting flowers, and attending her water aerobics class at the Fitness Center. She was also an avid animal lover, especially dogs, cats, and rabbits.

Those left to cherish Patti's memory include her husband, James Hoogerwerf; children, Justin Hoogerwerf (Devinna Fleming) and Crystal Hoogerwerf; beloved cat, Stinker; brothers, Kenneth Jr. (Naima) Weed, Patrick (Joanne) Weed, and Timothy Weed; niece, Rachel Weed; great nephew, Lachlan Buser; cousins, Sandy Bullock and Patty Pekarsky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rick Weed.
