Patricia L. "Pat" Averill, 91, long-time resident of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the funeral home from 12 (noon) to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.

Pat was born February 19, 1931, in Rock Island, to James and Meta (Vogelsang) Marre. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1948 and attended Augustana College. Pat married William T. "Ted" Averill on August 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2012. Pat was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling overseas. Pat also liked sewing, crocheting, needlework, playing euchre, and baking Christmas cookies.

Those left to cherish Pat's memory include her daughter, Cynthia Averill, Cortez, CO; sons, Michael (Donna) Averill, Colorado Springs, CO, and Curtis Averill, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jeromy, Jimmy, Michelle, Bryce, Terra, and Skye; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jesse, Victoria, Kaera, Maddy, Kaydance, and Aspen.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James Marre; and sisters, Margaret Marre, Vernie Rosene, Irene Martin, Alberta Mohr, and Valda Kaminski.
