Patricia was born on October 5, 1956 to Orville and Rita (Curry) Ryan in Moline, IL. After graduating from Moline High School, she entered the workforce. On February 14, 1976 she was united in marriage to Steven Scranton and the couple had three sons, Todd and twins, Timothy and James.
Patricia spent her career in healthcare, working for Franciscan, later called UnityPoint-Trinity Hospital. During her 33 years, she had several positions including secretary, CNA, recreational therapist and telemonitor tech. She retired in 2021. Pat enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends going to exercise class, thrifting, and seeing live music. She liked helping people by volunteering at the South Rock Island Township. She loved traveling with family and friends, going on many trips over the years. Most important to Pat was her family. She took every opportunity she could to see them. From birthday parties and cookouts or just watching the Bears. She was a devoted grandmother lovingly known as "Grandma Hat". She loved sharing in the things that made her grandchildren happy. She looked forward to their musical performances, plays and sporting events. She watched movies and video games and took countless walks. She went above and beyond. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Patricia is survived by her sons, Todd (Samantha Eberts) Scranton, Timothy (Jill) Scranton, and James (Nichole) Scranton; grandchildren, Logan and Ignatius Scranton, Logan Swartz, Colin, Claire, Emma and Thomas Scranton; siblings, Steve, Richard, and Karen.
