Obituary

Patricia E. Wilson, 88, formerly a long-time resident of Milan and SW Rock Island, died Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at the Davenport Lutheran Home, Davenport, IA. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, IL. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at the following link, https://www.wheelanpressly.com/milan-live-stream. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, with a rosary to be recited at 3:30 PM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family to be put towards a memorial in Patricia's name.

Patricia was born on June 10, 1934 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Bernard and Loretta (Freund) McGuire. She married Kenneth E. Wilson Sr. on September 11, 1954, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Patricia was a 1952 graduate of Alleman high school. She worked at Birtman Electric in Rock Island for a few years before becoming a homemaker, mom, and volunteer. Her volunteer work included many years in the PTA and library at W.L. Eddy School, Milan; an advisory board member of the Rock Island Library SW branch; and a charter, 52-year member of the Blackhawk Fire Protection Auxiliary. She was also a lifelong supporter of the Democratic party. Pat also enjoyed cheering on her children and friends at local sporting events. She and Kenny followed dirt track races for many years at the Mississippi Valley Fair Grounds and East Moline Speedway. Her greatest joy was keeping track of the activities of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Patricia is survived by her children, Kathryn Mainz, Monmouth, IL, Kenneth E. Wilson Jr. and his wife, Deanna, Rock Island, IL, Susan K. Coyne and her husband Douglas, Milan, IL and Karen L. Wilson, Milan, IL; grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Tinley Park, IL, Nicholas Mainz, Monmouth, IL, Paul Wilson, Rock Island, IL, Joyce Smith, St. Mary, GA and Chad Coyne, Orion, IL; great grandchildren, Charity, Austin, Cody, Charlie, and Clayton; great great grandchildren, Waylon and Landon; brother, Vincent "Bink" McGuire, Rockford, IL; Brother-in-law, Jerome (Phyllis) Wilson, Milan, IL; special friends, Dawn Tanner and the Smiths (Tim, Lindi, Parker, and Pearson); and several nieces and nephews.
