Paul L. Cook, 74, of Milan, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport. Services for Mr. Cook will be 1 pm, Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors conducted by the Milan American Legion, Post 569  will be in the Preemption Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Milan Lions Club or to Milan American Legion. Paul was born on April 6, 1943 in Lauratown, Arkansas, a son of Paul Cook and Lela Johnson Cook. He was first married to Holly Krueger. Later, he married Neva McKinley on April 13, 1993 in Union County, Illinois. Paul worked for the J.I. Case Co. for 30 years retiring in 1994. Mr. Cook was a member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island,  Milan American Legion Post No. 569, and the Rock Island Conservation Club. He served on the Board of Directors for the J.I. Case Credit Union, J.I. Case Safety Committee and the Executive Board of 806. Paul enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Cook was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Survivors include his wife, Neva; daughter, Teresa Pardee, Illinois; step children, William McKinley Jr, Illinois, Mary (Alan) Taulbee, Illinois, Faith Dykes, Andalusia, Pauline Dick (Chuck Dole), Rock Island, Kevin (Julie) McKinley, Rock Island; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Letha Elliott, Milan, Anna (Ed) Weinert, Milan, and Phyllis Munoz, Belton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
