Paul F. Swartz, 76, of Milan, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island. Services will be 10 AM Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Paul was born in Preemption, Ill. on February 18, 1938, a son of George and Prudence I. Ells Swartz. Paul married Jacqueline Thomer and together they just celebrated 54th wedding anniversary in June.

Paul worked for Packaging Technologies in Davenport as a manufacturing engineer for 34 years.

Paul was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing, being an auto mechanic, feeding and watching the birds and his two girls, the Boston Terriers. Paul loved his family and always was there to help them with anything they needed. He also loved spoiling his wife, Jackie, every opportunity he got.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Thomer-Swartz, Milan; children (and spouses), Laurie M. (William) Lomba, Moline, Renee L. (John) Doxsee, Moline, Duane P. Swartz, Rock Island and Darren E. Swartz, Milan; grandchildren, Derrick, Cameron and Dalton Doxsee, Nina and Shayn Lomba, and Matthew, Mark, Michael and Janee Swartz; great-grandchildren, Logan E., Ellis M. and Ruby E. Swartz; and a sister, Virgene M. Harris, Rock Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
