Pauline E. Ford, 75, of Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mrs. Ford will be 11 am, Monday  at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Pauline was born on December 11, 1941 in Rock Island, a daughter of George Schmitt and Dorothy Davidson Schmitt. She married her childhood sweetheart, Edward Ford Sr. on September 15, 1956 in Anamosa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2008. Pauline graduated from Sterling Cosmetology Beauty School, Moline in 1960. She then worked at Don's Hair Stylist, Rock Island and later at Mark Jeffrey Salon, Rock Island, retiring in 2015 with 55 years of experience. Previously she had worked at International Harvester, East Moline. Pauline enjoyed family picnics, dancing, bowling, traveling, playing Yatzee, and listening to Elvis Pressley. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She once competed in the State of Illinois Hairstylist Competition.  Survivors include her children, Debra Ford, Wheatland, Iowa, Linda (Mike) Ford-Johnson, Lakeland, Florida and Edward (Diane) Ford Jr., Milan; grandchildren, Donavon Hansen, Heather Krow, Tegan Jaeger, Jennifer Ford  and Diedra Gentz; eight great grandchildren; sister, Georganna (Lewis) Burson, Orion, brothers, Frederick (Linda) Schmitt, South Carolina and James (Donna) Schmitt, Rock Island; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
