Pauline Conner Johnson, 68, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Tuesday February 1, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 11:00am to service time at the funeral home.
Pauline was born on April 30, 1953 to Bernice Conner and Paul Roper. She was raised in Mound Bayou, Mississippi and graduated from Clarksdale High School and later attended Coahoma College.
After college, she moved to Rock Island, where she would set her own family roots. She married Rev. Derrick Johnson in Davenport.
Pauline was very active at House of Refuge Church, Davenport, loved singing and having a good time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, her favorite destinations included her family in Orlando and Arizona. When she wasn't traveling, you could find her sitting around her table gathered by her grandkids, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. To know Pauline, is to know her door was always open.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Rev. Derrick Johnson; children, Kedric Roper Sr. (Marlena), Lakesha Roper-Johnson (Jason Sr.) Demetric Pugh, Tommy Quinn, Darnell Larmontt Quinn Sr. (Michelle Lynn); siblings, Roosevelt Hall (Connie), Lois Reed Sledge (Jerry), Robert Reed, Paul Roper, Lavern Carter, 18 grandkids, 16 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
