IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline
Tcheudji
October 20, 1959 – February 17, 2025
Mama Pauline Tcheudji, AKA "Pauliwa," 65, Moline, IL passed away at her home on February 17, 2025. There will be a viewing from 1-2:00 PM with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial will be in Bafang, Cameroon.
Pauliwa was born October 20,1959, in Bafang Cameroon, to Papa Nitcheu and Mama Noune Yohanna.
She got married to Mr. Toko Gabriel, at a very young age. They had four children, two boys and two girls.
In 1985, she lost her husband and youngest daughter, Eleonore. She moved in with her senior sister, Mami Antoi, who stepped in as mother to her and her children.
She was young, and had endured all these losses, yet stayed very strong. She immediately started a small business using her gift/talent of cooking. By 1986 she was thriving in selling good food in the marketplace in Douala, and in doing so she inspired many other ladies to do the same.
In 1987, she was offered a lifetime opportunity to travel to the United States, by relatives (Mr. & Mrs. Michel and Charlotte Njiena) who were diplomats serving in Cameroon Embassy in New York. She worked with them until 1993 when they transferred back to Africa.
In 1994 she continued to work in New York at the Embassy of Gabon where she met Mr. Mohamed, and they continued their journey together. She worked in a store in Brooklyn until 1999 when IBP, a meat packing company, came to New York to recruit workers. In 1999 Pauliwa and Mr. Mohamed in their pursuit of the American dream, jumped on board, and moved to Moline where she worked for IBP then Tyson, for 5 years. From 2006-2023 She worked for Miller Container Corporation for 17 years to retirement in 2023.
Those left to cherish Mama Pauline's memory include her children: Anastasie, Sylvain and Roger; her grandchildren: Adrian, Arianna, Gabriella, Jordan, Pharel, Godwin Pauline and Gabriel; Mr. Mohamed and all her family and friends.
We loved her, but God Loves her more. We Let her Go. May her soul Rest in Peace.
