Peter J. Richards, 63, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at his home.  Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday, December 10 at Peter's home - 920 43rd St. in Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Jaan Sturgis.

Peter was born on January 27, 1953 in Wyandotte, Michigan, the son of Jerome and Ora Kelly Richards.  He married Jaan Sturgis on October 2, 2010 in Davenport.  Peter worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years and earned his Master's Degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, graduating in 2001.  Peter was very proud of his work as a Treatment Adherence Case Manager with the Project of the Quad Cities and recently attained the coveted national designation of AIDS Certified Registered Nurse (ACRN).  He had also been employed as the Coordinator of Health Information Management at Black Hawk College.

Left to cherish his memory are his husband, Jaan Sturgis, Rock Island; sister, Barbara Stevens, Lyles, TN and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
