Peter B. Soderberg, known as Sparky to some, Bruner to others, died at the age of 60, June 3rd, here in Rock Island, his home for most of his life. Mostly he is known in Rock Island for his many acting and singing roles, starting in his youth, mostly in Genesius Guild and in Circa 21 Dinner Theatre productions. He also was in Italian Avati-directed, locally filmed, movies "Bix", "Brothers and Sisters", "An American Love", and "The Hideout", and in Rock Island's Zurborg-directed "Beauty Queen Butcher".

He was also known nationally for his innovative, humorous, and song work in the Pagan communities.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Soderberg, and by his partner of 31 years, Ray Bayley. They were due to be wed next month. Ray hopes to reissue Sparky's two Lunacy albums of a cappella plus percussion songs on CD and publish other works by Peter. Memorials are being held by friends and admirers in locations around the US in the next couple months.
