Philip Tate Jr., 48, of East Moline, passed away Thursday April 21, 2022 at his home.

A Service celebrating his life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday June 4, 2022 at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 - 7th Avenue, Rock Island. The family will greet friends from 12Noon to service time at the funeral home.

Philip was born on August 28, 1973 in Chicago, the son of Philip and Bertha (Butler) Tate Sr.

Mr. Tate had been employed as a chef at Heritage Nursing Home, Jacksonville, IL and had previously been with the Brick House, Jacksonville and Bennigans, Rock Island.

Philip loved spending time with his family, listening to music, cooking, playing Xbox, his cars and adding to his wardrobe.

Survivors include his father, Philip Tate Sr.; children, DeVon, Philip, Travon, Trashauna, Shavon, Jayla, Shykeyla and Marvell; siblings, Tyron, Valdez, Tyesha, LaSherrie, Felicia, Vincent, Davon and Michael and grandmother, Helen.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha.
