Phillip R. "Bud" Jeffery, 93, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday December 8, 2015 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island . Visitation is 5:00-7:00pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be left to the family.
Phillip was born on September 9, 1922 in Davenport, the son of Elmus and Muriel Jeffery. He married Joan Christensen on October 6, 1979 in Rock Island.
He had been employed with Union Local 309, Rock Island. He was later employed with the Rock Island School District as a crossing guard for 18 years.
He was a member of Union Local 309 and First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed breakfast with his 11th street McDonalds friends, fishing and repairing lawn mowers.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; children, Danny(Leslie)Jeffery, Richard Jeffery, Mary Anne Jeffery, Cindy(Chuck) Fierst, Becky(Pat) Torrence, Larry Jett, Mike Jett, Jerry Jett; 25 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley and Margie; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John; daughter, Lorinda "Lindy"; brother, Elmus and sister, Dorothy.
