Phillip L. McVay Jr., 67, of Milan, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at his home.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time.

Philip was born on January 26, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Phillip L. and Janice L. Schlieper McVay.

Phillip was married to Dawn Mundy, Tina Cockerill, and Sherri Briggs.

He retired from Reynolds Consumer Products (formerly known as Pactiv Corporation and earlier as Tenneco Packaging, Mobil Chemical Corporation, and Kordite Corporation) in Jacksonville, IL.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hopping on his motorcycle and hitting the highway.

He is survived by his children, Heather McVay, Robert McVay, Jessica Garrett and Phillip McVay III; grandchildren, Jasmine, Harold, Christopher, Elijah and Lenore; sister, Christine Arnold; brothers, Scott (Tracey) McVay and Danny McVay; and several family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tina McVay; parents, Phillip and Janice; step-mother, Mary McVay; step-father, Robert Claybrook; and sister, Cindy Claybrook.
