Phyllis Darlene Reasy was born in Sabetha, KS, on November 2, 1939 to Charles W. Scott and Florence Catherine (Van Dyke) Reasy. She was the tail end of seven children.

Phyllis was raised by her mother in Oneida, KS, where Florence ran the switchboard and young Phyllis learned responsibility and enterprise. Those Oneida days were imprinted on her for life.

When the switchboard went dial, Florence opened the Cozy Café in Fairview, KS, and it was there that Phyllis met John Reynolds who was home on leave from the Navy and came in for lunch. They were later married and raise three children on a farm near Illinois City, IL.

Phyllis enjoyed life. She loved growing things. She loved making things and planning to make things. She loved going for a drive to anywhere because she appreciated our beautiful world and noted so many details. She loved her Lord, Jesus and expressed her faith in words and deeds. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge, IL.

She is survived by her children, Donald A. (Chéri) Reynolds, Lynn E. (Bruce) Selking, and Mary B. Reynolds; grandchildren, Tiffanie (Chad) Gentry, Amber (Kyle Anderson) Arnold, Audrey Selking, and Rosemary (Rahim) Maher; and great-grandchildren, Damien and Irina, Stella and Lucas, and Ronan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; an infant son, Joseph; siblings, Charles Reasy, Mary Arden, Alice McClellan, Dorothy Lyon, Robert Reasy, and Lucille Benedict.
