Phyllis J. Sitter, 94 of Dixon, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 at Amber Ridge Memory Care Center, Moline, Ill.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Dixon. Private burial is at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, Ill., is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Phyllis Solt was born June 1, 1921 in Freeport, Ill., a daughter of Archie and Mary Fox Solt. She married Earl L. Sitter on Feb. 27, 1942 at First Baptist Church. The couple had been married for 66 years when Earl died on Jan. 5, 2009.

Phyllis was a licensed beautician who took pride in owning her own shop and continued styling family and friends hair throughout her life.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Dixon for over 70 years. She counted her church circle as her dearest friends, but her family was always her number one priority.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Jerry) Armstrong, Peoria, Ill., Pam (George) David, Roselle, Ill., Patty (Craig) Tillman, Rock Island, Ill.; a son, Dan Sitter, Cherry Valley, Ill.; grandchildren, Brandon (Dee) Armstrong, Dardenne Prairie, Mo., Brock Armstrong, St. Louis, Mo., Dyana Barnas, Park Ridge, Ill., Kate (Byron) Kuhn, Bartlett, Ill., Brian (Sarah) Sitter, Bartlett, Chad (Melanie) David, Hampshire, Ill., Stacey (Andy) Duff, Arlington, Va., Zach Tillman, Chicago, Abby Tillman, Tunis, Tunisia, Africa, Nick Tillman, Davenport, Iowa; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to losing her husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Jaimi Armstrong and her siblings, Doris Ebersole, Jim Solt and Ruth Gassman.
