Rae L. Chaney, 63, of Rock Island, passed away Monday November 13, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.

Rae was born July 13, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter of John R. and Mabel L. Lomax Chaney. She was a teacher for the Rock Island School District and also with the Boynton Beach School District, Boynton Beach, FL. She retired from UnitedHeathcare.

Surviving are her children, Shelbie Gaines, Boynton Beach, FL, Christopher Chaney, Arizona, Harvey Bland Sr., Rock Island and Robert Bland Sr., Rock Island; grandchildren, Kendra Freeman, Matthew Chaney, Markell Chaney, Harvey Bland Jr., Forrest Gaines, Robert Bland Jr., Jayvon Lewis, Tarryn Ferguson, Peyton Gaines, Myles Chaney, Tyler Tipton, Tiarra Bland, Estella Bland, Aamyah Bland, Naliyah Bland, Traveyon Bland, Jayden Bland, Jaida Bland, James Chaney and Aliviah Bland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and additional family.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Chaney; mother, Mabel Lomax-Fallon; and brothers, Harvey Chaney, John Chaney II and Rev. Lance Chaney.
