Ralph E. Vroman Sr., 79, of Rock Island, passed away Friday October 28, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport.

Services will be 11:30am Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9:30am to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to Alleman High School.

Ralph was born on August 18, 1937 in Moline, the son of Daniel and Evelyn (Kressin) Vroman. He attended Alleman High School and graduated from Moline High School. Ralph married Martha Younger on October 6, 1956 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport by Father Conroy.

He served in the United States Navy Reserve.

Mr. Vroman retired from JI Case as a quality inspector.

Ralph was a member of St. Mary's Church, Moline, Knights of Columbus Allouez Council 658. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, traveling and volunteering.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Martha; children, Evette(Jeff) Conroy, Milan, Bridgett Vroman, Ohio, Hiedi Vroman-Shuey, CA, Ronald Vroman, Rock Island, Tim(Kathy) Vroman, Downs, IL; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Vroman, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ralph Vroman Jr. and a brother, Richard Vroman.
