Obituary

Ralph "Buster" E. Vroman Jr., 54, of Reno, Nev., formerly of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Ralph was born in Moline, Ill. on January 14, 1960, a son of Ralph E. and Martha Younger Vroman. He attended Assumption High School and then graduated from West High School, both in Davenport. He later graduated from St. Ambrose University with a degree in Business Administration.

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran. He met Va Tran in 2000 and they wed in 2014 in Nevada.

Ralph worked 25 years in finance and operations management.

Ralph and Va loved to travel, ski, cook, ride motorcycles and work on cars.

Survivors include his spouse, Va Tran, Reno, Nev.; parents, Ralph Sr. and Martha Vroman, Rock Island; sisters, Evette (Jeff) Conroy, Bridgett Vroman and Hiedi (Dennis) Shuey; brothers, Ronald Vroman and Tim (Kathy) Vroman; 14 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; many cousins; uncle, Bob Vroman, Palmer, Alaska; and aunts, Claudia and Therese.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
