Randy was born to Roberta and Donald Muller on August 15, 1962, in Rock Island, IL and was later adopted by Bill McIntyre where he grew up in Rock Island. Randy was married to DeAnn Shipley June of 1985 and later divorced but remained friends. Later, Randy married Sue Hicks on September 13th, 2002. In 2021 Randy contracted the Covid 19 virus with multiple complications where he was ultimately transferred to the University of Iowa with a long hospital stay resulting in the first double lung transplant performed related to Covid-19 at the University of Iowa. After his transplant Randy was able to come home and enjoy over 4 years of time with his family where he spent a lot of time with his grandchildren by attending countless baseball, softball, soccer games, dance recitals, golf meets and spoiling grandchildren as much as possible.
Randy enjoyed playing cards with his mother-in-law Barbara Lesner "the card shark" where he sometimes won but mostly lost. Leading to concerns of card counting and cheating. Sue and Randy ran an in-home daycare for many years and was known as Papa Randy to all. Randy enjoyed spending time with all of his "kids" that grew up around the daycare throughout the many years.
