Raymond L. Cook, 87, of Milan, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, December 8, 2014 at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Those wanting to attend the service are asked to meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island by 11:00 AM to get lined up in procession. Military honors will be performed by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Raymond was born August 22, 1927, in Coal Valley, IL, the son of Lewis and Frances (Branberg) Cook. He worked as a roofer at Harrington Roofing. Raymond also enjoyed making stained glass in his spare time.

He is survived by his children, Christine Cook, San Diego, CA, Susan (Mark) Ferris, Mason City, IA, Steve (Mechele) Cook, Escondido, CA, Stephanie Martorana, San Tee, CA, Susan (Jesse) Evans, St. Paul, MN, and Jeff Forsyth, Milan, IL; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Brandy) VanDeWalle, San Tee, CA, Jessica (Eric) Black, Rock Island, Sophia and Isabella Martorana, San Tee, CA, and Ethan and Cole Cook Escondido, CA; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Logan, and Evelyn; his siblings, Mary (Elmer) Johnson, Orion, IL, Rosalie Neppl, Moline, IL, Lois Leif, Moline, IL, and Marvin (Kathy) Cook, Geneseo, IL. He was preceded in death by, his parents; the mother of his four children, Iona Cook; his companion Betty Forsyth; and his two brothers Bill and Don Cook.
