Raymond H. Duncan, Sr., 91, of Milan, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave. E, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors presented by Milan American Legion Post 569, will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
Raymond was born on July 12, 1926 in Chicago, a son of Richard and Maude (Glenn) Duncan. Ray served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Thelma "Jean" McKinley on March 19, 1946 in Rock Island. She preceded Raymond in death on March 16, 1998.
Raymond worked at the John Deere Foundry for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the U.A.W. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching TV and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children (and spouses), Mary Ann (Harry) Sturgeon, Milan; Ronald (Amy) Duncan, Moline, Richard Duncan, Davenport, Raymond, Jr. (Cheryl) Duncan, York, S.C., and Roger (Sandra) Duncan, Milan; nineteen grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Linda Silvis; one grandchild; one great grandchild; sister, Sarah Cooper; and brothers, Richard, Harvey and Glenn Duncan.
