Raymond E. Martin, 65, of Colona, formerly of Reynolds, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Thursday November 6, 2014 at Genesis, Illini Campus, Silvis.
A memorial visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 801 W. Edgington St., Reynolds, IL. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andalusia Masonic Lodge.
Raymond was born November 9, 1948 in Moline, IL, a son of Myron I. and Ethel B. Mier Martin. He was formerly married to Judith Peterson from Geneseo. Raymond lived in Atlanta, GA for 20 years before moving to Colona where he lived for the past 10 years.
Prior to his retirement, Raymond was a truck driver for various area companies, lastly with Neumann Farms Trucking, Geneseo. In earlier years, he worked for I.H. Farmall Works.
Raymond was a member of Andalusia Lodge 516, A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed taking care of his pet dog.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Jessica Martin, Monroe, GA; mother, Ethel Martin, Taylor Ridge; brothers, David (Carol) Martin, Taylor Ridge, and Larry Martin, and his special friend Donna Lloyd, Illinois City; sister, Patty (John) Busboom, Tallahassee, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father.
