Renard "Skip or Junior" E. Brennan Jr., 93, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 12, 2021, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, which will be live-streamed at https://vimeo.com/644033234. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf or to a favorite charity of your choice. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family with services.
Skip was born on November 16, 1927 in Rock Island, the son of Renard E. Sr. and Ida (Deckers) Brennan. He worked as a machinist at JI Case and Quad City Engineering, and later worked in packaging at Miller Container. Skip enjoyed fishing and boating on the Rock River. He was known as "Mustang Man" in Rock Island.
Skip is survived by his brother, Ronald (Judith) Brennan, Louisville, KY; sister, Karen Schmitt, Washington, D.C.; cousin, Nancy Ballinger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jack M. Schmitt; and aunt, Louise (Tanna) Deckers.
Skip's family would like to send their sincere gratitude to the staff of Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, for their great care and comfort to both them and Skip during his stay.
