Rhonda M. Carlyle, 76, Rock Island, IL passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Generations in Rock Island. There will be a visitation from 9:30-10:30 AM with a memorial service following at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Inurnment at Rock Island National Cemetery. Luncheon following from 12:30-2:30 PM at the American Legion hall 515 1st Ave W Milan, IL Memorials may be made to the QC Animal Welfare Center.

Rhonda was born on May 30, 1947 to Robert and Bonnie Jean (Chasey) McNichols in Creston, IA. She graduated from Rocky in 1965 and then on Dec. 6, was united in marriage to Ronald Carlyle. The couple moved many times throughout their life due to Ron's military career, but considered Rock Island to be their home.

Rhonda worked a variety of jobs in her career, including many years as a real estate agent for Ruhl & Ruhl. The job she was proudest of was as a caregiver for her children and grandchildren.

Rhonda's hobbies included online shopping, watching her shows- Wheel of Fortune and the Chicago series. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her great-granddaughter.

She is remembered for her generosity and for always taking care of her family and others. Rhonda will be greatly missed by her son, Ronald (Terri) Carlyle Jr.; great-granddaughter, Sophia Carlyle; siblings, Dave McNichols, Bobby (Marie) McNichols, Allen (Barb) McNichols, Byron (Linda) McNichols, and Nora (Darrell) Kelsall; close friend, Ashley Eberts; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Renee Carlyle; and granddaughter, Raquel Carlyle.
