Richard J. Blaylock, 60, of Sherrard, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sherrard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Richard was born on February 18, 1955 in Rock Island, a son of Alvin H. and Modie (Otts) Blaylock. He married Sandra K. Stanley on August 16, 1975 in Rock Island. Rick worked at Alcoa for over 20 years, mostly in IPS/Loading Dock. He greatly enjoyed playing guitar and drums, listening to music and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Katina (Todd) Stiles, Moline and Ricky (Cassie) Blaylock, LeClaire, Iowa; grandchildren, Mason (Stacie) Hogren, Tyler Stiles, Peyton and Adam Blaylock and Todd Jr., Alyssa and Kayla Stiles; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Davis, Nellie Iverson and Linda Gill and brothers, Alvin, and David Blaylock.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Sandra ,a son, Adam and a sister, Blondie
