Richard "Dick" L. Hill, 95, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Friendship Manor Silver Cross Pavilion. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the Arthritis Foundation.

Richard was born in Rock Island on July 13, 1919, a son of Walter S. and Melda Rightnour Hill. He married Betty A. Lerigo on July 24, 1954 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2014.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Germany during World War II. He worked as a lab technician for Servus Rubber Company in Rock Island for 53 years.

Richard enjoyed remodeling homes and boating.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R. and Linda Hill, Rock Island; granddaughters, Jessica, Jennifer and Jaime Hill; and brother-in-law, Clifford Dierolf.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Janice Dierolf and brother, Robert Hill.
