Richard B. "Dick" Sperry, 83, of Davenport, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at Genesis East.

Funeral services are 11 am Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation is an hour prior. Burial with military honors is at the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Richard was born Feb. 5, 1931 in Canton, Ill., a son of Roy and Lucille Nall Sperry. He married Susan K. Searcy.

He had been an offset press operator at the Rock Island Arsenal.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Dick was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; sons, Chaz (Jennifer) Sperry and Jason Sperry, both of Davenport; grandchildren, Austin, Devyn, Atalissa and Abbi; sisters, Betty Schrimpscher, Moline and Pat Sperry, Dana Point, Calif; and his favorite buddy, his dog Spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Ashley.
