Richard A. Gonzalez, 76, of Moline, passed away Friday May 1, 2026 at UP Trinity, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Milan. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 East 4th Avenue, Milan. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors.

Richard was born April 27, 1950 in Rock Island, the son of Ruben and Delores (Alvarez) Gonzalez. He married Belinda Jones on June 6, 1975 in Milan.

Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked at BiState Regional commission, City Clerk of Geneseo and retired from Bowman Accounting. He often would moonlight as a craps dealer. He volunteered his tax prepping services at the MLK Jr Center in Rock Island.

Richard was a member of Mexican American fast pitch softball and Mexican American golf league. He enjoyed golfing, watching golf and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Tara (Dustin) Thor, Milan; grandchildren, Rylee Bowling, Regan Bowling, Avery Thor and Colton Thor; great-granddaughter, Alani Jefferson; brother, Robert Gonzalez and sister, Denise Vallejo. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernie Gonzalez and Roy Gonzalez and 2 infant siblings, Marcella and Terry.
