Richard Jacobs, 84, of Milan, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his home.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, in the Illini Hawkeye Room at Hampton Inn and Suites, 2450 69th Ave, Moline, IL 61265. Memorials may be made to the family.

Richard was born on March 13, 1939, in Galesburg, IL, to George and Evelyn Jacobs. Richard married Carolyn Avery in 1965. He created a business called Jacobs Siding, where he did all kinds of home improvements. Richard attended Faith Evangelical Free Church, Moline. He enjoyed working outside and fishing. He loved taking time out of his day to spend with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Carol Hendrickson; grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Martin, Chris (Maggie) Rogers, Kevin (Kathryn) Anderson; and great grandchildren, Bryce and Aaron Rogers, Elijah Dewitt, Jeremy, Jaxon, Andrew and Robert Martin, Jaxon and Nathan Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn; son, Kevin Jacobs; and brothers, Marvin Jacobs and George Jacobs Jr.
